# 10/5/2026 Zionsville Town Council

The Town of Zionsville Town Council’s regular meeting on October 5, 2026, approved the 2027 budget on second reading, 7–0. Council also approved several 2026 additional appropriations, 7–0, after staff explained that lower-than-expected circuit-breaker costs and higher supplemental LIT distributions made it possible to accelerate capital items originally planned for 2027. The appropriations included $390,000 for fire operating-fund overtime, $500 from the police donation fund, and $21,000 from the food and beverage fund for Main Street Zionsville holiday decorations. No contracts or vendors were awarded or selected.

Council approved, 7–0, transferring approximately $54,000 in opioid settlement funds to the general fund after administration described updated guidance on how those funds should be accounted for; council members discussed the implications for future use. The council also approved an alley vacation at 560 West Poplar. It continued Ordinance 2026-20, concerning zoning-variance standards, to the November 2 meeting for further discussion. Consent-agenda items were approved, 7–0.
