# October 1, 2026 School Board Work Session

At its October 1, 2026 work session, the Sartell-St. Stephen School Board reviewed district Northstar and MCA results, including enrollment demographics, special education and educational-benefit trends, attendance, graduation rates, and assessment results. Board members discussed testing limitations and requested information on students with 504 plans; building-level presentations were expected at a later meeting. No procurement decisions arose from this discussion.

The board also received an update on Benton-Stearns Education District’s facilities planning for level-four special education services. A possible long-term lease of a proposed facility is under consideration after other renovation and construction options were found costly or unsuitable. A letter of intent was submitted in recent weeks, but the property transaction and lease are not final; the proposed lease levy is expected to support the plan if it proceeds, and the facility could be ready for the next school year. The board took no new spending or procurement vote, noting that member boards had previously authorized Benton-Stearns to proceed without further individual-board action. The board agreed to move its November work session from November 5 to November 4 and voted to enter closed session for building-security briefings.
