# Grant County Health Board Meeting 9-28-26

At its September 28, 2026 meeting, the Grant County Health Board approved several budget and funding actions. The board increased the FY2027 legal services budget from $8,000 to $10,000; one member abstained. It also approved applying for a $25,000 CDC-funded preparedness grant distributed through the State of Indiana, which supports a preparedness coordinator’s 17 deliverables and includes a designated backup.

The board approved using $10,300 in prior-year HFI carryover funds to purchase two rapidly deployable oxygen distribution systems for the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) mobile unit. EMA is expected to purchase and maintain the systems, which were described as supporting approximately 10–12 people each; members discussed how they could be deployed during emergencies and facility system failures. The health officer also raised early discussions about finding a larger health department building because the current space is at capacity, but no funding or procurement decision was made. Division reports were approved, with no related purchasing action identified.
