# October 1, 2026 Work Session

The City of Lake Forest Park held a work session on October 1, 2026. Council received a first presentation on Resolution 26-2098, which would authorize the mayor to sign a professional services agreement with Speciallings Incorporated for 100% design and bid support for the Beach Drive lift station project. The proposed agreement is a little over $1.1 million. The project would replace two aging lift stations with one and relocate sewer infrastructure; prior work included approximately $30,000 for options analysis and $255,000 for 30% design. Construction costs remain uncertain: the discussion referenced possible $2.5 million allocations in each of 2029 and 2030, while an approximately $8 million figure was described as preliminary. Staff will investigate potential grants and coordinate project timing with the Lakefront Park work. No vote on the agreement was taken; it is expected to return to Council for further discussion.

The session also included a broader review of the city’s budget outlook, revenue options, utility taxes and rates, and possible expense adjustments. Council discussed traffic-camera options and a forthcoming vendor meeting, but no vendor selection or spending action was made. Members asked staff to analyze the budget impact of Proposition 1 and identify potential line-item changes; no budget amendments were adopted during the session.
