# 09/29/2026 Landmarks Commission

The City of Albany Landmarks Commission met on September 29, 2026. It approved historic review file HI-15-26 for brick infill at the EH Roads Building, with an added condition that the brick pattern clearly delineate the edges of the former opening. The commission also approved file HI-18-26 for storefront rehabilitation at 111 and 113 1st Avenue, including proposed door, window, and awning changes. No contracts, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.

During public comment and commission discussion, members considered how the city reviews painting of historic brick and ghost signs, and whether the historic-review code should better address alterations or additions to buildings outside the current period-of-significance cutoff. Staff said Article 7 code-update comments would be circulated for further commission review and then vetted with city staff and the State Historic Preservation Office before the hearing process. No code change was adopted at this meeting.
