# NDPS Restructuring Committee Meeting 3

The Newberg Public Schools Restructuring Committee’s third meeting on October 2, 2026, focused on evaluating school-restructuring models to address staffing and class-size imbalances and generate savings. The committee discussed an estimated $1 million needed to restore a full school year, building capacity, boundaries, blended classes, and tradeoffs among the models. Model G had been revised to keep Crater open as a sixth-grade center, which would reduce its savings compared with the prior version. Through a committee feedback process—not a formal board vote—Models A, B, E, and F were set aside for the next round of detailed review; Models C, D, G, and H proceeded for deeper feedback.

The committee’s feedback and other community input will be analyzed for presentation to the school board, with a presentation planned for October 13 and about five weeks of further outreach before a decision. Boundary and transportation details would be addressed after a model is selected. No contract awards, vendor selections, purchasing decisions, or other procurement activity were identified.
