# GSA Moves Federal IT Buying to MAS

GSA ended the 2nd Generation Information Technology (2GIT) blanket purchase agreement on September 30, 2026, and is directing agencies to use the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) and device-specific BPAs for comparable IT purchases. The 2GIT BPA had a potential five-year ceiling of $5.5 billion and 75 awardees, including 56 small businesses; its sunset changes the ordering path for agencies and contractors pursuing those purchases.

- Contractors should review their MAS Special Item Number (SIN) coverage and confirm which device-specific BPAs apply to the products they offer, including printers, rugged devices, and standard laptops and desktops.
- Agencies and suppliers should use the applicable MAS or device-BPA ordering pathways for purchases previously made through 2GIT.
- GSA’s supply-chain risk management templates and guidance remain relevant to the transition; contractors should review the updated materials when preparing or supporting offers.
