# Board of Supervisors - Open Session - September 29, 2026

The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors’ open session on September 29, 2026, included several funding and capital-planning discussions. The board approved a $17,500 request from gaming revenue to help Minden complete engineering work related to its recovery from the 2024 tornado; the request was described as matching support for Iowa West Foundation funding. Residents also raised questions about proposed Limekiln Road paving assessments, debt costs, and possible state funding for a road intersection, but the board took no action on those matters. The finance director presented a capital-planning approach, including potential transfers of about $1 million from the general fund and $2 million from gaming revenue into the capital projects fund. No transfers were approved at this meeting; staff will return with transfer requests and additional information on fund interest earnings and the juvenile detention refund. Potential projects discussed included road work, IT virtualization, conservation facilities, and a park bridge and overlook.

AllCare Health Center reported that it is seeking bids for a proposed 10,000-square-foot dental facility, estimated to cost $5.7 million, with bids due in about two weeks and up to $4.4 million committed from the organization’s reserves; no county funding decision was made. The board also approved a camera-sharing agreement with the Iowa School for the Deaf to provide first responders access to selected existing cameras, with no purchase identified. It approved the conservation department’s request to set pay for an outdoor operations coordinator, funded through user fees. Other actions included a cybersecurity-awareness proclamation; no related procurement was discussed.
