# La Vergne Planning Commission Meeting (audio only) - 09/29/26

The City of La Vergne Planning Commission met on September 29, 2026. No procurement awards, purchases, or budget allocations were identified. The commission deferred the 36.24-acre Hollendale Road rezoning request until the next month pending a traffic study, and deferred the approximately 89-acre Twinning Station rezoning request pending updated traffic and stormwater information; staff also reported a sewer-capacity shortfall. A 19.25-acre, 118-lot Minerva Drive/Sand Hill Road rezoning request was deferred for two months to allow completion of a traffic study; staff noted that sewer service would require off-site improvements. Public commenters raised traffic and road-safety concerns, and one asked the city to retain approval rights if a proposed development agreement is assigned to another party.

The commission approved the revised site plan for Classical Rutherford Charter School, a new approximately 4,900-square-foot retail site plan at 177 Old Nashville Highway, and the Jackson Square final plat. It approved the Emeralds Village final plat with sidewalk construction required before certificates of occupancy are issued. The commission also voted to recommend amendments to the zoning ordinance: removing the Planning Area District principal-use table, and updating rules for tobacco, vape, and cannabinoid retailers, including where those uses may locate; legal staff said existing lawful uses would generally continue under current rules. The bonds-and-letters-of-credit update noted that three additional Arbor Ridge bonds were expected for the next month. These were planning and land-use actions, not procurement activity.
