# Planning Board Meeting 9/29/26

At its September 29, 2026 meeting, the Revere Planning Board voted to recommend that the City Council lay out parcel A1 at Overlook Ridge Drive as a public way. The proposed roadway realignment includes a signalized intersection, turn lanes, and pedestrian, bicycle, and MBTA bus-stop accommodations. The applicant said the work is supported by a $4 million MassWorks grant and would enable development of 617 additional housing units and about 10,000 square feet of commercial space; no city funds are expected for the improvements. The applicant noted that a separate future phase involving new Route 1 ramps would require additional permitting and funding. The recommendation was approved by the board and is scheduled for City Council consideration on October 26.

The board also voted to recommend deleting the ordinance provision requiring body-art establishments to be at least 500 feet from one another, schools, playgrounds, and houses of worship, explaining that the restriction could prevent such businesses from obtaining occupancy approval in permitted business districts. The board discussed, but did not take a new project vote on, conditions recorded in prior meeting minutes for a development at 1290 North Shore Road, including soundproofing, traffic and station-access plans, parking, and occupancy requirements. No contract awards or vendor selections were identified.
