# City Council Study Session - 28 Sep 2026

The City of Englewood, Colorado, City Council held a study session on September 28, 2026. Council agreed to schedule discussion of city manager finalists and direction to extend an offer for November 19. The August general fund report showed revenues up about $1.6 million (3.3%) from the prior year, expenditures at 63.8% of budget, an operating surplus just over $4 million, and a total fund balance of approximately $20.75 million. Council also discussed a proposed food security committee; members generally supported a nine-member, one-year committee with a sunset provision, while raising questions about its scope, overlap with regional efforts, and staff costs. The city manager later estimated roughly $5,000–$7,000 in staff time, but no budget allocation or procurement was approved. The revised boards and commissions handbook will return for possible action at a future regular meeting.

Arapahoe County election officials briefed council on ballot processing, audits, physical and cybersecurity, and voter access; no related purchases or contracts were discussed. Council also requested that work on the city’s clean-and-safe initiative return sooner than the planned November 2 discussion. No contract awards, RFPs, vendor selections, or other procurement activity were identified in the meeting.
