# Board of Commissioners Morning Meeting: September 29, 2026

At its September 29, 2026, Board of Commissioners meeting, Lane County approved the first FY 2026–27 supplemental budget (Order 26-9-29-01) by a 5–0 vote. The budget includes temporary positions in Financial Services and Technology Services to support a financial system upgrade scheduled to go live July 1, as well as an executive assistant position and additional transition support in the County Counsel’s Office. The board also approved, 4–1, a 3% increase in environmental health service fees effective January 1, 2027, to support licensing and inspection operations; staff said the program is fully fee-funded.

The board unanimously approved accepting $1.32 million in Oregon Health Authority opioid-settlement funds for the Lane County Treatment Center in Florence (Order 26-9-29-07), supporting operating and remodeling needs. Staff said the project was moving into construction documents, with bidding anticipated by the end of September or early October, bids expected before the holidays, and construction targeted to begin in January. Separately, the County Administrator reported that Baker Tilly had been hired to audit waste diversion and related solid-waste fees, but the audit is awaiting records from Waste Connections and its affiliates. No contract award or bid approval for the treatment-center construction was made at this meeting.
