# Council Meeting - September 28, 2026

The September 28, 2026 Princeton Mayor and Council meeting included several procurement and capital-project items. Council unanimously approved awarding Waters & Bugby, Inc. a contract not to exceed $5,672,325 for Hamilton Avenue sewer rehabilitation, and approved a $40,845 increase to French & Parrello Associates’ construction administration and inspection agreement for the Mountain Lakes Preserve pedestrian-bridge project, bringing that agreement’s not-to-exceed amount to $216,831. Council also authorized submission of the 2026 Community Development Block Grant annual action plan and an application for a $350,000 New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Public Safety and Health Grant, with no municipal match required. The municipality’s entry into the Metropolitan Health Insurance Fund was described as expected to reduce health-care costs by about 17% for November and December and to lock in rates for the following year.

Officials presented a concept plan for consolidating the Department of Public Works facility at 298 River Road. The concept includes challenging site grading, retaining walls, utility extensions, maintenance space, and minimally heated vehicle storage; the discussion cited site-work costs of about $16.5 million and raised questions about the scope and cost-benefit of the vehicle-storage component. Council expressed agreement to continue into design using existing funds for consultant fees, while final design and funding decisions remain for later. The meeting also included a zoning-code diagnostic presentation by consultant Camios, with public feedback requested by December 1 before drafting begins; no new zoning contract or award was approved. Other actions included adoption of a municipal policy regulating federal civil immigration enforcement on municipal property and approval of a parking-related ordinance. No additional procurement activity was identified in the remaining public-comment discussions.
