# DYRSD School Committee Meeting 9-28-26

The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School Committee met on September 28, 2026. Procurement and funding discussions included the high school’s proposed German exchange, estimated at $2,600 per student, with two bus trips costing just under $800 in the prior exchange. The teacher asked the district to consider contributing to transportation costs so more fundraising could support students and scholarships. The committee voted in favor of the exchange proposal; no specific district contribution was approved. In its strategic-plan update, the superintendent reported that purchase orders for a time-and-attendance system had gone out, but implementation was delayed by budget constraints and the vendor’s queue; no vendor award or contract amount was given.

Facilities planning was also discussed. The district is developing a funding strategy for capital needs, including the high school track, which can no longer host home meets, and three rooftop HVAC units that need replacement. The superintendent reported about $1.4 million in capital work completed over the summer, with future funding mechanisms still under consideration. For the MSBA school feasibility study, a request for services had been distributed to 41 recipients, 13 firms attended the September 16 pre-bid walkthrough, and responses were due October 6 before designer selection; no selection had yet been made. A liaison also cited approximately $4.5 million in projected renovations for West Dennis School. Separately, the committee voted 4–2 to postpone the start of the regional-agreement review until September 2027.
