# CBP Implements Canadian Import Prohibitions

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) guidance implementing Presidential Proclamations 11061, 11062, and 11063 took effect September 29, 2026, and bars specified Canadian alcoholic beverages, dairy products, and motor vehicles from import. Covered goods may not be admitted to foreign-trade zones or bonded warehouses, transported in bond, or entered for consumption after the cutoff; the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) will automatically reject covered filings. Certain covered goods imported before the cutoff may still be entered for consumption, but remain subject to applicable 50% duties under Proclamations 11046–11048.

- U.S. buyers and contractors sourcing the covered Canadian products should screen goods against the proclamations’ annex scope and tariff classifications and update import-entry procedures, as the effective date has passed.
- Importers and customs brokers should account for ACE rejection of covered filings and the restrictions on FTZ, bonded-warehouse, and in-bond handling when planning shipments.
- For covered goods imported before September 29, consumption entry may remain available, but applicable 50% duties still apply; procurement cost estimates should reflect those duties.
