# NNSA and JIATF-401 Share Counter-UAS Data

On September 29, 2026, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and the Department of Defense-led Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401) signed a memorandum of understanding to share counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) test data, research, operational insights, and assessments. The agreement aims to reduce duplicative testing and accelerate capability evaluation and deployment. It is a coordination framework, not a contract award or solicitation; the signals identify no new funding, procurement schedule, or solicitation details.

- Common testing practices and shared data could shape future C-UAS evaluation needs, creating potential work in testing, data analysis, and technology integration, although no specific procurement is announced.
- Contractors developing C-UAS capabilities can assess how their testing evidence and evaluation methods align with the agencies’ emphasis on shared information and consistent evaluation.
- NNSA’s reported counter-UAS awards to Kratos and Anduril indicate existing market activity, but the MOU itself provides no stated funding or near-term bid opportunity.
