# Nashua (NH) Board of Education Meeting 9/28/26

At its September 28, 2026 meeting, the Nashua Board of Education approved several procurement and spending items. The board approved Lead Street Elementary playground equipment and rubberized surfacing for approximately $247,000, funded by the City; the school PTO separately raised $25,000 for a walkway, lighting, and additional fencing. It also approved a Beacon Communication Services contract for speech-language staffing, not to exceed $368,943.75; a Reach the Top Tutoring contract, not to exceed $85,000; and a Booth Bay Therapy Services contract for augmentative communication and assistive technology services, not to exceed $44,640. Each contract motion passed. The board also approved an agreement with ASME Local 365 concerning staffing and assignment of crowd-manager positions for school events; no dollar amount was stated. It approved the fiscal-year expense report and August transfer report as well.

The board received a presentation on summer programs, supported through a mix of district, federal Title funds, 21st Century funding, and YMCA contributions. Members discussed a possible summer college-application preparation program, with further administrative follow-up suggested. The superintendent also reported that community survey feedback will inform strategic planning and facilities planning. No contract or funding action was taken on those discussions. A new bullying-prevention policy was approved, and a religious-neutrality policy was introduced for further review; a public commenter also urged a hearing on proposed state ballot measure HB 1300, but the board took no action on that request.
