The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is seeking a contractor to replace the campground vault restroom and complete related site work at Pikes Peak State Park.
- **Government buyer:** Iowa Department of Natural Resources (Iowa DNR), Engineering Section, State of Iowa; project site is in Clayton County.
- **Primary OEM:** **Huffcutt Concrete Inc.** is specified for the prefabricated restroom, or an approved equal. The building must be the Iowa Single Vault—Right Entry model, include a solar vent fan, and support 120/240V single-phase electrical service.
- **Named product/vendor:** Ero-Guard EG-Tube Sock is specified for wildlife-friendly wattles, or an approved equivalent.
- **Main work:** Remove and dispose of the existing vault restroom and sidewalk, remove a designated tree stump, install the new restroom and electrical connection, and construct concrete pavement, sidewalk, and ADA parking features. Complete grading, erosion control, seeding, traffic control, and crushed-stone work.
- **Notable quantities:** 1 restroom building; 173 tons of modified subbase in the proposal schedule; 57 square yards of reinforced concrete pavement; 9 square yards of reinforced concrete sidewalk; 70 linear feet of 9-inch wattles; 32 tons each of crushed-stone base and stockpile; and 1 ADA parking sign and 1 concrete parking bumper. The plans also list 27 units of modified subbase, so the schedule quantities should be confirmed.
- **Other requirements:** Electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician and meet applicable codes. Work is allowed Monday through Thursday, with 20 working days allowed. A one-year warranty is required. Iowa-grown products and Iowa-produced coal are given preference.

### Description

The project removes an existing sidewalk, tree stump, and vault restroom building, and backfills the demolition area with compacted modified subbase. A new single-vault restroom building with an electrical service connection, sidewalk, and ADA parking space will be installed at the same site. Work also includes pavement markings, site grading, erosion control, seeding, and crushed-stone placement and stockpiling. Bids must be submitted electronically by November 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
