SLAC seeks 230 custom precision optical mirrors

**Buyer:** SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
**Posted:** October 30, 2026
**Respond By:** November 06, 2026
**Identifier:** SLAC_368931_DispersiveMirror
**NAICS:** 3333, 327215, 327211

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking quotes for 230 custom optical mirrors for precision laser applications.
- **Government buyer:** SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated for the U.S. Department of Energy.
- **OEM/material manufacturer:** **Corning Incorporated** is specified for the Corning 7980 0F glass substrates. The mirrors must also bear a UFI logo; no mirror supplier is identified in the notice.
- **Products requested:**
  - 150 HD120+AR ultra-precision highly dispersive mirrors.
  - 80 CM2699 chirped mirrors.
- **Shared requirements:** Both mirror types must be 38.1 mm in diameter and 12.7 mm thick, use Corning 7980 0F substrates, and have a plano/plano configuration. Requirements include polished surfaces, S1 surface quality of 5/3x0.04, S2 commercial polish, S1 flatness below 1/10L at 632.8 nm within the clear aperture, clear aperture greater than 80%, and parallelism below 10 arcmin. Diameter tolerance is +0/-0.1 mm and thickness tolerance is ±0.1 mm. Mirrors must comply with ISO 10110 and include a UFI logo, an arrow identifying S1, and a tracked six-digit serial number.
- **Optical specifications:** HD120+AR mirrors require a 1030 nm central wavelength, 935–1125 nm wavelength range, -200 fs² group-delay dispersion, 5° angle of incidence, and minimum reflectance of 99.9%. CM2699 mirrors require a 1035 nm central wavelength, 950–1120 nm wavelength range, -50 fs² group-delay dispersion, 5° angle of incidence, and average minimum reflectance of 99.9%. Both specify p-polarization and an AR stress-compensation surface.
- **Quote and capability requirements:** Provide pricing and lead time. The request is for products only; no on-site services are specified. Technical information requested includes relevant past performance and a manufacturing plan showing adequate resources, quality controls, procurement, fabrication, and testing capacity.
