The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking a contractor to renew the rubber fender system on a YP 676 Class vessel.
- **Government buyer:** U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), CG-SEA-C23. The historic hull-fitting drawings identify Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) as their government customer.
- **Work requested:** One job to remove and replace the vessel's fender system along both sides from bow to stern and across the transom, with inspections and specified repairs to related mounting components.
- **Fenders:** The government will furnish 24 black EPDM Type-D fenders, each 20 feet long and 6 by 6 inches. The contractor installs them and replaces or renews designated mounting bars, plates, oak shims, studs, nuts, and washers.
- **Inspection and repair requirements:** Inspect exposed bars, plates, and oak shims; report deficiencies, locations, quantities, and repair recommendations. Replace damaged or deteriorated components as directed, and install new fenders and related hardware.
- **Other specified materials:** Drawing parts include rubber fenders, oak shims and blocks, CRES/stainless-steel hardware, plates, bars, bearings, davit components, and fasteners. Drawing quantities are generally for one vessel; some quantities are unspecified or illegible.
- **Named companies and products:** **Alexander Industries, Inc.** is named as manufacturer of specified 3-inch wood blocks (manufacturer part number H-22-B). **West System** epoxy is specified for oak-shim scarf joints. Marinette Marine Corp. is identified as a contractor in the historic drawing; the procurement summary does not identify a proposed fender-system OEM or quotation vendor.
- **Notable requirements:** Oak shims must be templated to the vessel's existing conditions; scarf joints are to follow the referenced drawing detail and use West System epoxy. Some drawings may require Joint Certification Program registration to access.
- **Award basis and pricing:** The initial release describes a firm-fixed-price purchase order, evaluated for technical compliance, ability to meet requirements, and price. No estimated value is provided.
