NHTSA proposes changes to federal vehicle-lighting requirements for conventional and automated-driving-system vehicles; this is a regulatory rulemaking, not a procurement.

### Description

NHTSA proposes amendments to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, covering lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. Proposed changes include revising the test voltage specification for integral beam headlamps and removing requirements for vertical headlamp arrangements. The proposal would also tailor certain controls and telltale requirements to vehicles with manually operated driving controls, and allow optional cyan-colored ADS marker lamps on ADS-equipped vehicles. The changes are intended to provide design flexibility and address regulatory burdens without affecting vehicle safety.
