### Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is granting California’s request to extend the Serious area attainment date for the South Coast Air Basin nonattainment area under the 2012 annual PM2.5 national ambient air quality standards. The deadline is extended from December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2030. EPA determined that the State satisfied the statutory criteria for the extension. The action is effective November 2, 2026.
