<p>With the winch, the HET can recover itself when immobilized due to terrain, move other vehicles, or assist in recovering non-mission capable tactical and combat equipment. The winch accomplishes these actions by using a motor that turns a spindle from which the drum assembly is attached. The drum, in turn, either winds or unwinds a cable which is attached to a fixed point.</p>
