OFAC Sanctions Turkish Financial Entities; VA Requests Comments on Recognition Process for Veteran Assistance

This notice is issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):
- OFAC announces the addition of several Turkish financial entities to the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List):
  - GOLDEN GLOBAL PORTFOY YONETIMI ANONIM SIRKETI
  - GOLDEN GLOBAL VARLIK KIRALAMA ANONIM SIRKETI
  - GOLDEN GLOBAL YATIRIM BANKASI ANONIM SIRKETI
  - These entities are designated under Executive Order 13902 for involvement in the Iranian financial sector
  - All property and interests in property of these entities within U.S. jurisdiction are blocked
- U.S. persons are prohibited from engaging in transactions with these entities
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) requests public comments on a proposed process to recognize organizations and individuals who assist veterans, families, and caregivers in navigating Veterans Health Administration (VHA) programs and services
  - The process will require certification that no fees are charged for assistance
  - Input is sought from organizations such as the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, Independence Fund, National Resource Directory, Operation Homefront, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Red Cross Military Veteran Caregiver Network, and Wounded Warrior Project
- No procurement of products or services is being solicited in this notice

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is publishing the names of persons placed on OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List) due to meeting applicable legal criteria. All property and interests in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction of these persons are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions with them.
