NASA Langley Research Center is seeking to procure two advanced small non-piloted aircraft systems for technical research purposes. - Government Buyer: - Agency: NASA - Sub-agency: Langley Research Center - OEM Highlight: - FLITE TEST LLC is the sole source and OEM for the requested aircraft systems - Products Requested: - Two (2) Flite Test Integrated Control Prototype Small Non-Piloted Aircraft Systems, Version 2A - Wingspan: 10-12 feet - Propulsion: 16 EDF 50mm engines on wings, 1 EDF 70mm engine on tail - Control Surfaces: Rudder, elevator, wings with 3-5 servos for elevator and rudder, 16-20 servos for flaps and ailerons - Updated flight controller with CAN ESCs and CAN servos for enhanced feedback - Ready-to-fly, new edition with possible VTOL (Vertical Take Off or Landing) capabilities - Notable Requirements: - Aircraft systems must be delivered ready-to-fly - Enhanced feedback and control via updated flight controllers and CAN-based components - Designed for technical research applications - The procurement is currently announced as a sole source to FLITE TEST LLC, but NASA is accepting capability statements from other interested organizations.

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for: Two (2) Flite Test Aircraft Systems

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Two (2) Flite Test Aircraft Systems. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to FLITE TEST LLC, 143 Garland DR SW New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663-6300, under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that FLITE TEST LLC is the sole provider of Two (2) Flite Test Aircraft Systems

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Langley Research Center (LARC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 336411.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 8:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on 6/12/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
