Description
The Province of Alberta’s Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services (PSES) is seeking a replacement for its current Scrap Metal Transaction Tracking Solution to enhance oversight, compliance, and public safety within the scrap metal industry. The solution must support enforcement of the Scrap Metal Dealers and Recyclers Identification Act (SMDRIA) by enabling scrap metal dealers and recyclers to report all transactions and allowing authorized law enforcement users to access and analyze transaction data. The system should be secure, reliable, scalable, and comply with recent legislative amendments including enhanced transaction data elements and business-to-business transaction reporting. The contract duration is 61 months with a proposed start date of July 1, 2026.
