Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. The US Air Force Academy (USAFA) Chemistry Department is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing a Simultaneous Dynamic Scanning Calorimeter/Thermogravimetric Analysis (SDT) instrument with installation and training.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS The instrument must be capable of simultaneously collecting Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) data to measure heat flow, weight changes, temperature, and heat capacity of samples. Interested vendors must be able to provide a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) instrument that meets or exceeds the attached minimum technical specifications.
Note: Known capable models include the TA Instruments Discovery SDT 650, Mettler Toledo TGA/DSC 3+, and Netzsch STA 509 Jupiter, or equal.
REQUESTED INFORMATION Interested and capable vendors are requested to provide a brief capability statement containing the following information:

Authorized Distributor Status: If not the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), please provide an authorization letter from the OEM to distribute their products.
