The City of Pontiac Election Commission met on October 6, 2026, to prepare for the November 3 general election. Commissioners unanimously approved the appointment of precinct inspectors listed in Attachment A and authorized the city clerk to amend or change appointments as needed. They also approved an amendment removing the word “City” from the resolution. No contracts, purchases, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
The commission discussed election-day operations, including moving precincts 9 and 10 from the closed Kennedy Owen School to Pontiac Middle School, and plans for location managers and greeters to support voters and manage lines. The clerk’s office also described voter education and outreach, absentee voting, and early voting at the Pontiac Public Library from October 24 through November 1. A public commenter offered the Pontiac Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta’s support for nonpartisan voter-engagement efforts.
