At the County of Huron Council Day 1 meeting on October 7, 2026, council unanimously supported a residents’ request for a lower speed limit and an extended safety zone through St. Clemens, adding a request to consider a community safety zone and to forward correspondence through the appropriate provincial channels. Staff noted the highway is outside the county’s jurisdiction. Council also heard a complaint about signal timing at an intersection; staff said they and a contractor would review the north–south cycle and provide an update. No related expenditure or contract award was approved.

Council approved a surplus-farmhouse severance application with conditions, despite disagreement over the size of the severed parcel and restrictions on building a residence on merged farmland. It also received an update on Bruce C-related Regional Municipal Readiness Fund work, including a transportation study to be procured through Public Works and a consultant to support recruitment of licensed home-child-care providers; the discussion identified no funding amounts, selected vendors, or contract awards. Council also received and implemented direction on the community museum operating-grant report. No other specific procurement awards or spending approvals were identified.
