This was a community symposium on October 6, 2026, about Aligned Data Centers’ proposed project near Amber in Grady County; it was not a government decision-making meeting. Aligned described an 835-acre site, with the initial development planned to include one data center building and one natural-gas power plant, and a broader first phase of up to six buildings as demand develops. GPC (Gas Power Compute) is building the adjacent power plants. The company said the project could bring about 2,000 peak construction jobs and more than 450 permanent jobs, and estimated roughly $1 million in annual property taxes per building. Aligned also said it would work with the Town on a voluntary community-benefits framework. No bids, contract awards, procurement approvals, or votes were identified; a question about project incentives was answered with a speaker saying they were not personally aware of any.
Discussion also covered the proposed site layout and impacts: a 150-foot minimum building setback, native landscaping and berms, stormwater basins, and an on-site retention lagoon for domestic wastewater. Aligned described its cooling as a closed-loop system and said the project would bring its own energy assets rather than tie into the grid. Residents raised concerns about water use, noise, construction hiring, taxes, and local impacts; company representatives invited further questions at information stations. These were project presentations and claims, not government approvals.
