The Santa Clarita Planning Commission held an introductory public hearing on October 6, 2026, concerning the proposed Princessa Crossroads project (Case 17-104), submitted by SC Lanco LLC. The approximately 146-acre proposal includes up to 300 multifamily homes and up to 1.5 million square feet of commercial and industrial space, with the applicant projecting as many as 3,000 jobs. It also includes new streets, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, grading, and connections to the planned Via Princessa extension. The applicant described a public-private arrangement being developed with the City that would ultimately fund construction of the road through the property, and said the project would provide partial funding for activity-center improvements through Quimby obligations. No contract award, procurement approval, or specific spending amount was identified.
The hearing was informational; staff said the draft environmental impact report was expected in mid-October and that the Commission would return to the project on November 17 for its first CEQA-related hearing. The Commission unanimously voted to continue the public hearing to November 17; it did not approve or reject the project. The meeting also previewed upcoming planning items, including accessory dwelling unit code updates and residential projects. A commissioner raised a general question about emergency access during fires, but no related action was taken.
