Burnet County Commissioners Court regular session, October 13, 2026. The court reinstated the county burn ban and adopted the 2026 transportation plan, which identifies 100 potential capacity, safety, transit, and planning projects and possible grant opportunities. The plan may be amended as further studies and local plans are completed; public commenters urged TxDOT and the county to evaluate a Marble Falls relief route alongside the proposed US 71/281 interchange. The court also approved up to $92,750 for KC Engineering design work at County Road 403 and Flat Rock Creek, and approved a Frasier ambulance purchase for $349,775, identified as the lowest bid among the reviewed options. It authorized a formal bid process for courtroom sound and visual equipment after preliminary quotes did not meet requirements.

The court approved a range of agreements and spending, including up to $105,000 for Hill Country Humane Society, $21,600 for tourism social-media/content services, $15,700 for DroneSense licenses and support, $16,500 for veterans’ transportation in Llano County, and $15,000 for asphalt work on Marble Falls streets. Other approved items included communications maintenance, postage equipment, internet service, jail and mental-health services, and a $1,000 Fiesta Jam sponsorship. The court approved a $9,623.22 increase to the Future Infrastructure aerial-fiber project, bringing its total from $122,150 to $131,773.22, despite opposition from two members. It also approved applications for a $16,200 sheriff’s-office grant requiring a 50% match and a $250,000 Texas Veterans Commission grant with no cash match. A fleet/budget policy was approved with amendments establishing a July 1–August 31 review window for certain line-item transfers and changing “acceptance” to “acknowledgement” for sheriff’s-office and constable fleet policies. The court also approved a $6,000 library donation and recognized Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Texas Extension Education Association Week.
