The City of Anderson, South Carolina Planning Commission met on October 6, 2026, to consider two land-use applications. For Annexation 267 at 216 Vanderver Road, staff presented a request to annex approximately 31.5 acres and apply suburban residential zoning for a proposed 62-lot subdivision. The commission heard discussion of the new Unified Development Ordinance’s requirements, including traffic-impact analysis, sidewalks, tree buffers, and conservation areas. A motion to approve was made and seconded, but the transcript does not capture a vote or final disposition.

For rezoning application RZ265 at 202 US 29 Bypass, the owners sought to change the former Skate Land property from general commercial to light industrial for enclosed storage and warehousing. Staff recommended denial, citing the comprehensive plan’s commercial land-use guidance and concerns about broader future uses under industrial zoning. The commission voted 5–0 to recommend denial; the matter was to go before City Council for consideration. No procurement activity, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified.
