RSU 57’s October 7, 2026, school board meeting included no contract awards, solicitations, or purchasing approvals. The superintendent reported that district staff are preparing a Friends of the NRA grant request for $5,000 to enhance the NJROTC marksmanship program; the grant is not yet awarded. The district also hired Missy Knight and Lori Knight as co-transportation directors, with compensation still being determined by the administration and expected to remain within the voter-approved budget. The board referred consideration of using schools for spring elections to the Finance Committee for review, including potential instructional, security, and budget impacts; no decision was made.
The board approved the consent agenda and a nomination for a K–1 teacher at Lyman Elementary. It accepted two policies for first reading following legislative changes to mandated-reporter requirements, including training every two years, and voted to remove the student computer and internet-use acknowledgment form policy because the form is now incorporated into annual student verification. The board also added that removal item to the agenda. No procurement-related motions or expenditures were approved.
