Baldwin UFSD Board of Education meeting, October 7, 2026. Auditors reported no findings in the claims audit, which reviewed approximately $125.5 million in payments, and gave the district an unmodified financial-statement opinion. The internal audit of pupil-personnel vendors and invoice review identified five recommendations, which the district is addressing; audits of building access and facilities maintenance received satisfactory opinions. The external audit reported that general-fund balance rose by $8.7 million after an $8.3 million transfer from the capital reserve to the capital projects fund. Revenue was approximately $175 million and expenditures approximately $166 million. The auditors also noted that several prior-year comments remain in progress and that there were no new comments.

The board approved a resolution classifying masonry repairs at Plaza Elementary and slab repairs at Meadow Elementary as Type 2 actions under SEQRA, allowing the projects to proceed without further environmental review; the resolution also calls for forwarding the projects for state Education Department approval. No construction bids, contracts, vendor selections, or award amounts were reported. The board also approved business consent items 11.03–11.27 and an updated use-of-facilities report. A proposed policy revision to standardize GPA and attendance requirements for extracurricular participation was sent back for revision and a later reading.
