The Lompoc City Council meeting was held October 6, 2026 (the metadata lists October 7 UTC). On the 5–0 consent-calendar vote, the Council ratified payroll expenditures of $2.18 million and $2.2 million and voucher payments of $2.89 million, and approved a $394,000 purchase order to Winners Chevrolet for six 2027 Chevrolet Silverado EV extended-range work trucks for water and parks operations. Staff said the previously approved Ford F-150 Lightning option was no longer available and described the purchase as part of a strategic response to clean-fleet requirements, while the City assesses charging needs. The Council also heard that stage construction is awaiting delivery of wind walls, with completion expected before the Flower Festival; a skate-park groundbreaking was being planned for October 12.

The Council approved, 5–0, an MOU requested by Granite Peak Lompoc LLC for the proposed Badger Meadows development, allowing the County to analyze possible City utility service in its environmental review. The MOU does not guarantee service and can be terminated by the City; potential out-of-city rates were discussed. The Council also voted 5–0 to bring back discussion and further information on the Police Department’s Flock license-plate-reader program, following questions and public concerns about data use, privacy, and vendor access; no change to the existing arrangement was made. A landfill tipping-fee increase was discussed without a decision. No new Flock or landfill procurement was approved.
