The Lancaster County Planning Commission meeting on August 18, 2026, considered land-use applications and reviewed the draft Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). The commission recommended approval of a conditional-use permit for a restaurant, bar, and grill at 1949–1951 Great Falls Highway; the applicant said the building would be remodeled, there would be no outdoor seating, and an ABC license had been obtained subject to a nine-month contingency. The commission denied a request to rezone property for Justin’s Tree Service from low-density residential to regional business, citing inconsistency with the regional-business district definition and surrounding development. It also recommended approval of a neighborhood-business rezoning for a proposed medical office and approved the road name Mud Puppy Lane. These land-use decisions are subject to County Council’s final action where noted in the meeting.

The commission voted 6–0 to forward the draft UDO to County Council for consideration, with discussion and recommendations attached. Topics included conservation subdivisions and open-space standards, sewer requirements, residential density and housing types, commercial subdivision review, road access and connectivity, highway-corridor overlays, parking, and manufactured-housing provisions. Public comments and commissioners raised additional questions and requested revisions or follow-up, including review of buffers, open-space calculations, food-truck permissions, and parking requirements. No procurement activity, contract awards, vendor selections, or spending approvals were identified.
