Cultural Council Meeting 10/8/26

The River Cultural Council meeting, broadcast by RevereTV, was held October 8, 2026. The council reviewed its cultural grant cycle, which closes October 15. It had received 29 applications totaling approximately $100,000, while about $45,900 is expected to be available for grants. Members agreed to score applications independently using the existing criteria and to move projects scoring 60 or higher forward for discussion; the motion passed. The council expects to select projects in November and discuss award amounts in December, noting that a high score does not guarantee the full amount requested and that no carryover funds are currently anticipated.

The council also approved changing the payee for a previously approved $2,100 reimbursement for River High School’s Patriot Voice Project camera from the school to Lauren Walford, who covered the expense. Applicants were reminded to provide a clear project plan, timeline, itemized budget, and information about use of funds, and prior grant recipients were asked to submit required impact reports.
