At its October 6, 2026 regular meeting, the Ann Arbor City Planning Commission heard that City Council had approved a contract with Stantec and ZoneCo to rewrite the Unified Development Code (UDC), with work expected to begin within weeks; no contract amount was stated. Council had also approved the 2424 East Stadium development agreement and the 2080 South State Street rezoning, while the Dean 2 rezoning passed first reading and requires a second reading. The commission approved, 9–0, a revised site plan for 2525 Ann Arbor-Saline Road for a seven-story, 287-unit residential development, subject to a development agreement. The project adds 25 units compared with the prior plan and includes 279 parking spaces.
The commission unanimously recommended approval of the South Division Street rezoning and area plan, amending the motion to reject the applicant’s voluntary 65-foot height limit; City Council will make the final decision. A proposed attainable-housing-unit amendment to the UDC was postponed to December 7 for further consideration following discussion of its scope, standards, and potential impacts. No contract award or spending action was taken by the commission during the meeting.
