The Wadsworth City Council Committee of the Whole—Finance and regular council meeting was held October 6, 2026. Council unanimously adopted Resolution 26-98 supporting a proposed 180-foot MarkX multi-agency radio tower and requesting continued FAA review. The project is intended to improve first-responder communications and address coverage gaps; the city has $170,000 in state grant funds, and officials said MarkX would provide critical equipment and a building at no cost. The project remains subject to FAA review and other approvals, and no construction contract was awarded. Council also unanimously adopted Ordinance 26-113, establishing municipal airport fees and lease rates, and allowing the city to proceed with a lottery for hangar spaces it controls.
Two supplemental appropriations were introduced and advanced to second reading, but not adopted: $53,178.78 for general-obligation bond debt service, pending reconciliation, and $100,000 in the electric fund for Tyler payment fees. Officials estimated total payment-processing costs at about $375,000 and said they are exploring alternatives to Tyler Payments for 2027, including potentially charging digital-payment users the processor’s convenience fee. Construction-management and inspection-services ordinances for public projects were also on second reading; the transcript records no vendor selection or contract award for those services.
