Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee - Oct. 6, 2026

Richland County’s Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee met on October 6, 2026, to review proposed scopes and intended outcomes for a recreation and tourism study and a small-business economic development strategic assessment. Staff said the materials would inform development of the full scopes of work and RFPs. A committee member emphasized that the economic development assessment should produce practical guidance for programs, resource allocation, and budgeting.

The committee received the information without taking action on either procurement; no vendor, contract, or funding amount was approved. Staff will work with the procurement office to issue the RFPs as soon as possible, but said completing evaluations before year-end may be difficult, with results potentially extending into early 2027. The committee also approved its prior meeting minutes and adopted the agenda.
