The Burleigh County Commission meeting, called to order for October 5, 2026, covered county purchasing, transportation planning, and other county matters. The commission approved resolutions to begin advertising for a replacement mower tractor and three motor graders; the equipment will not be received or paid for until next year. The tractor will replace a 2004 Challenger, which is to be sold at public auction after the replacement arrives. No prices or vendors were stated. The commission also adopted the Fringe Area Road Master Plan update, which guides future regional road connections but does not itself commit jurisdictions to fund or build projects.
For Kimble Bottoms, the commission discussed the Army Corps of Engineers’ requirement to remove asphalt by the end of 2026. County Engineering will seek contractors and bring a bid back to the next meeting; no contract was awarded. The commission denied an Innova Homes abatement application after discussion of whether state law allows the county to waive penalties. Public comments debated Burleigh County’s participation in the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District and related tax contributions, but no action was taken on membership. No other procurement awards or vendor selections were identified.
