The Mandan Public School Board met October 5, 2026. The board approved the FY2027 budget, including a total levy of 131.29 mills—an increase of 1.7 mills over the prior year—and projected general fund revenue of $69.2 million. The board also approved a sealed-bid process for the old Mandan High School property. The site was appraised at $880,000, with one west-side lot appraised at approximately $170,000; the district plans to market the property to realtors and developers and seek bids before the end of the calendar year. No sale or bidder was approved at this meeting. Both actions were approved by roll call.
The board heard a presentation on the North Dakota School Boards Association’s Students First governance program, which has state funding covering more than 75% of program costs; the board took no action on joining. Administrators also discussed curriculum priorities and a gradual transition to an online board-packet platform, but no related purchases or contract awards were considered. The board approved routine consent items and a teacher resignation; no other procurement activity was identified.
