Town of New Castle Planning Board Meeting 10/06/26

The Town of New Castle Planning Board met on October 6, 2026. The board adopted a resolution for the 307 Millwood Road application. It also reviewed an informal application for a pool and patio at 45 Hammond Ridge Road; members and staff raised concerns about prior clearing beyond the property’s clearing-and-grading limit, development coverage, mitigation, watershed requirements, and the proposed deck size. The applicant was asked to provide revised plans and supporting information. A separate application to expand an existing deck was scheduled for a November 17 public hearing, and the board voted to direct staff to prepare a resolution for that application.

The board discussed draft amendments concerning large-scale solar installations, including noise limits, height measurement, access-road requirements, fire safety, maintenance inspections, stormwater standards, and battery storage. Members’ comments were to be returned for consideration; no amendment was adopted at this meeting. The September 15 minutes were approved. No procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified.
