The Washoe County Planning Commission met on October 6, 2026, and took action on three land-use matters. It approved Project Max’s request to abandon a portion of a roadway dedication for two parcels totaling about 44 acres, with conditions, to support future industrial development. It also unanimously approved an amendment to NV Solar WRX’s special use permit prohibiting construction of the solar facility in the parcel’s playa area. Neither action involved a contract award or procurement decision.

The main hearing concerned Palomino Farms’ proposed 34-lot common-open-space subdivision on 773.36 acres in the Warm Springs planning area, with approximately 28,500 cubic yards of grading and about 103 acres of proposed common open space. Residents raised concerns about groundwater availability, septic and drainage impacts, flooding, emergency services, roads, utilities, schools, traffic, and wildlife. The commission approved the tentative map with conditions, including revised water-rights language requiring relinquishment at the county rate in effect at the time; one commissioner stated they could not make the finding on availability of services. No procurement activity, spending allocation, or contract approval was identified.
