The Arlington Select Board meeting on October 5, 2026, included proclamations, appointments, license matters, and a continued hearing on host community agreements (HCAs) for a cannabis business at 1386 Massachusetts Avenue. After considering competing applications and arguments about site control, licensing limits, and the court-supervised receivership, the Board voted unanimously to deny DMC’s application and 4–1 to approve an HCA with Bud’s Goods. This was a business-agreement and licensing decision, not a municipal procurement or contract award. The Board also approved liquor-license amendments and applications, including the manager change at Jimmy’s Steerhouse, a common victualler license for Colette Bakery, and two Section 15 packaged-tour applications.
The Board proclaimed Arlington Community Media Day and Housing Corporation of Arlington Day; the latter proclamation noted that the nonprofit provides housing to 208 households and plans 83 additional affordable, energy-efficient units. In new business, the town manager reported that the applicant for a recent filming permit had been billed for parking impacts and police costs after the actual setup exceeded what was represented in the application. A member also asked town counsel to consider adding an ownership-interest question to future Section 15 applications. No municipal purchasing, bid approval, or procurement contract award was identified.
