The City of Reno Ward 6 Neighborhood Advisory Board meeting was held October 5, 2026. Public comment focused on the proposed dog park at Demonti Ranch Park: nearby residents raised concerns about notice and consultation, the project’s location and impacts, and spending already incurred. A resident cited a total project cost exceeding $200,000, approximately $30,000 paid to the contractor, and $10,349 spent on agility equipment. The city had received conditional approval from the neighborhood’s Architectural and Landscape Committee, including required changes to the entrance and fencing; staff was still assessing the cost and feasibility of those changes. The council liaison described the project as awaiting decisions on costs and next steps. No procurement-related vote or award was made at this meeting.

City staff also presented the city’s strategic priorities, including balanced budgeting, infrastructure maintenance, and improved capital improvement planning. Staff said Reno had contracted with Barry Dunn during the summer to help draft an RFQ for replacement payroll software, as its current Tyler Technologies system is nearing end of support. The plan also calls for a citywide contract review to improve contract templates and use of taxpayer funds. No solicitation or software vendor selection was announced. The board postponed agenda item C1 and reported no business development projects for review.
