The Bradford County Board of County Commissioners meeting was held October 6, 2026. The board voted 4–1 to award SHIP demolition/replacement project file 2022-2 to M&R Construction for $185,200 and approve the related contract. Discussion centered on the contractor’s earlier withdrawal and subsequent return to the bid, project timelines, and the suggested limit of three projects per contractor in the county’s local housing assistance plan. Commissioners asked staff to consider broader bid advertising to attract more contractors and bring future concerns to the board earlier. A contract-review committee reported reviewing more than 200 county agreements. Its updates included a Town Web website project to address ADA compliance, with a $9,300 one-time implementation cost and $4,800 annual costs for years two through five; a proposed floor-cleaning contract with Suburban Carpet Cleaners for $73,827; and pest-control services with Knox Pest Control at $634 per month, covering more facilities than the prior arrangement. Staff also planned to seek bids for consolidated fire-alarm monitoring, with bids expected to return to the board in November; current courthouse monitoring through Johnson Controls costs $3,000 annually.
Representative Chuck Brandon presented state funding of $5 million for Bradford County’s statewide law-enforcement radio system, following prior allocations of $1.25 million in 2024 and $97,000 the previous year. The meeting also included recognition of a departing Fire Rescue division chief and approval of a proclamation declaring October 4–10 National 4-H Week in Bradford County.
