Delta County Board of Commissioners Meeting 10/6/2026

At its October 6, 2026 regular meeting, the Delta County Board of Commissioners approved payment of $1,320,512.02 in bills and awarded a three-year audit contract to Gabridge & Company after reviewing six RFP responses. The administrator recommended Gabridge for its inclusive services, including the financial statement, single, and PFC audits, assistance with GASB 103, and an October start intended to help the county catch up on overdue audit work; no contract price was stated. The board also approved a $28,307.92 building-services contract, an amendment to the Davis Wenick surveyors contract to add seven corners (amount not stated), and an airport hangar tenant reimbursement to be credited against monthly rent until depleted. It approved the opioid task force’s grant recommendations: $13,000 for Delta County Communities That Care; $30,000 each for the 94th District Court, Great Lakes Recovery Center, Catholic Social Services, and the Child Advocacy Center; $29,831.77 for Big Brothers Big Sisters; and $29,700 for Face Addiction Now. Metropolis was not recommended for funding. Separate mini-grants of $1,500 to Face Addiction Now and $3,000 to the Gladstone Al-Anon Club were also approved.

The board adopted the FY 2026–27 general budget resolution after rescinding and replacing an earlier version with incorrect millage figures. It also approved county policies covering federal awards and land sales, purchases, and easements. In public comment, the Conservation District requested a county letter of support for a proposed $240,000 Michigan invasive-species grant over three years; the transcript records the request but no board action on it. The board deferred an investor RFP award to its first November meeting and approved other administrative matters, including amendments to Veterans Affairs Committee bylaws.
