At its October 5, 2026 meeting, the Columbus City Council approved multiple budgeted purchases and equipment orders. Accepted quotes included Forte’s $26,112 renewal for audio-video equipment support; a Midwest Turf and Irrigation mower for $98,479.37 (CIP 27-22); an RDO Truck Center semi-tractor for $170,180 (CIP 27-56); a McQueen Equipment street sweeper (CIP 27-14); a Municipal Pipe Company sewer-vac truck (CIP 27-41); and a Master Tech Truck and Equipment hydraulic-system replacement (CIP 27-15). The transcript does not provide the amounts for the final three purchases. The council also authorized an order for a $449,958 ambulance from Field Fire. The ambulance is a Sourcewell purchase, with delivery estimated at 12–18 months; the price will be locked when the purchase contract is signed, and payment is due after the start of the next fiscal year. Motions to accept the purchases passed.

Council members discussed Sourcewell as a cooperative purchasing consortium that conducts the bidding on participating agencies’ behalf, with no fee to the city, under the city’s purchasing policy. The consent agenda included a $400 temporary easement and two $100 leasehold payments for the 8th Street and 12th Avenue intersection improvement project, along with authorization to pay for various improvement projects. The council adopted resolutions R26-127 and R26-128; R26-127 was identified as associated with the airport eight-place T-hangar project (CIP 23-30).
